AYAMA – NERO DEL CAPO 2023 Premium Range

The name of the Ayama Nero D’Avola wine is NERO DEL CAPO

NERO from “Nero d’Avola”. The “Nero” (in italian it means “black”) refers to the colour of the grape, in the same

manner as the French use Noir (black) or Blanc (white) to distinguish between red and white grape varieties

DEL CAPO in italian it means “from the Cape” so, it’s the Nero from the Cape, got it?

Origin

Ayama Farm planted 1 hectare of Nero D’Avola in 2023 (Voor Paardeberg area). For the wine production 2023 and 2024 they bought some grapes from Bosman Family. Ayama and Bosman Family are currently the only producers of Nero D’Avola in South Africa

The wine is a dark ruby colour. Rich, but soft, with notes of ripe raspberry and plum on the nose. Fruit nuances on the palate like cherry and mulberry, along with notes of herbs and spice with a delicate tannin on the aftertaste make for something really unusual—and very special.

Available at the farm at R390 a bottle. Get there, do a tasting, have some lunch, and unwind.
