One of the most spectacular sights in Cape Town is the beachfront at Tableview with its seemingly endless beach and the spectacular view of the iconic Table Mountain across the Bay. The fact that windsurfers come from all over the world to test the winds means that the horizon is often filled with hundreds of their colourful kites keeping them aloft. Calamari tubes with tartare sauce

The vast menu features plenty of fish dishes starting with excellent sushi, calamari and prawns, line fish and really good and well-priced fish and chips.

Calamari tubes with spicy peanut sauce–delicious!

Try the chili crusted calamari, deep fried and served with a spicy satay sauce and the sesame crusted fish goujons deep fried and serve with a garlic aioli with a side order of the stuffed black mushrooms with feta and spinach- and a bowl of chips just to keep it all going—totally delicious, crunchy and packed with flavour.

Steak and creamy garlic mussels combo–superb

If you are fished out try one of the steaks or burgers,  rump and sirloin in three sizes ( from 200 gms to 400 gms  with pan fried chicken livers or prawns ) or try one of the combo platters with flesh and fish and even a bird or two  made in umpteen ways.  Desserts are suitably rich with chocolate oozing from cake and baked custard with “perfectly tanned caramel. For an over the top dessert try the Nutella double thick milk shake–ouch!

Nutella double thick milk shake —wow!

The wine list is adequate and the corkage won’t break the bank. Good value and good food without going into haute cuisine country makes this very popular with a young and sometimes noisy crowd.
