Groot Constantia

“What a good idea,” I hear you say—a wine route devoted to one variety—in this case Sauvignon Blanc. The fact that the wine route is the venerable Constantia Wine Valley makes it all that more significant.

The fabulous view from Steenberg

The brand new Constantia Sauvignon Blanc Route will be available at six estates across the Constantia Wine Route: Steenberg, Buitenverwachting, Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia, Constantia Glen, and  Beau Constantia.  Silvermist & Constantia Royale are available by appointment only and Eagles Nest will have their first Wine of Origin Constantia Sauvignon Blanc with the release of the 2021 harvest.

From historic to modern, here you will find something to match that taste of yours and your wallet. The range of styles is so expressive of each winemaker’s attitude to his craft that it makes a very rewarding experience. The rich diversity of the valley is the thing that makes it—and all wine regions—worthwhile.

The tastings will showcase both current vintage and older vintages to illustrate the age-ability of the Sauvignon Blanc variety in Constantia. Each visitor will receive a Sauvignon Blanc loyalty card and after visiting and tasting at 3 farms, they receive a 5% discount off the mixed case of Sauvignon Blanc from the online wine store. After visiting all 6 estates, they receive a 10% discount, with no time limit to completing the Sauvignon Blanc Route.

This initiative follows closely The Constantia Wine Route launching its brand-new online wine shop, showcasing all the available wines from the nine Constantia member wine estates on one platform. The route launches on 1st May and will be open to the public from the 7th May – International Sauvignon Blanc Day.

Their online wine route link is under the BUY menu dropdown.
