Despite Cape Town’s chill, things are sizzling at The Pot Luck Club where the Sunday Brunch Winter Extravaganza features a decadent multi-course menu, Bottomless Bubbles, and the city’s top-notch Bloody Mary.

The Sunday Brunch is served as a set menu of 10 courses, designed to deliver a completely unique Pot Luck experience, all under the expert eye of Executive Chef Jason Kosmas.

To kick off the Sunday Brunch Winter Extravaganza there are West Coast oysters, freshly shucked and dressed with Kosmas’ weekly creation, delivering a briny burst of happiness to start the day. Oysters lead a succession of snack-sized courses packed with flavours to awaken the palate.

Following the oysters, there is a buttery brioche with quail egg, porcini hollandaise, and mushroom duxelles, a lavish English muffin with lobster, kohlrabi, peas, and cauliflower, and the comforting yet vibrant flavours of a curry lamb shank taco with parsnip cream and mint salsa.

Following hot on the heels of the Snacks is what’s become something of a signature to Sunday Brunch: a suitably Pot Luck makeover of a classic ‘Arnold Bennett’ open omelette redolent with smoked haddock. From the signature to the seasonal, the ‘Salad’ course offers a palate-breather, with Kosmas tapping into whatever’s fresh in the markets that week.

Following the salad is a heartier main course, with Kosmas usually making duck the star of the meal.  It’s another experience unique to Sunday Brunch, served family-style at the table and plated with an array of sides; from beetroot tarte tatin to roast vegetables.

 

Brunch ends with a pre-dessert of baked goodies from the pastry kitchen before a light, often fruity dessert to cleanse the palate and draw a line under a decadent day.

 

With fully booked tables throughout the past summer, it’s clear that locals in the know agree. Add in the lively tunes of a live jazz band, and you have a boisterously cheerful gathering of food enthusiasts, friends, and dedicated Pot Luck aficionados enjoying the best Sunday Brunch in town.

The Pot Luck Club’s Sunday Brunch is served from 11:00 AM every Sunday and is priced at an all-inclusive rate of R1250 per person, covering the full 10-course menu, bottomless bubbly (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and the DIY Bloody Mary Station and is valid from Sunday 7th of July through to Sunday 29 September 2024, with the summer season brunches kicking off from October to end of April 2025.
