Spectacular setting
The imposing Kasteelberg towers over the Riebeek Valley where the twin towns of Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West vie for attention. Here lies one of the country’s most historic wine estates,Allesverloren, makers of some of the very finest red wines and Ports we have. The Malan family have lived here for 140 years and have gone from strength to strength despite the name of the farm—Allesverloren—All is Lost. This name was given to it centuries ago by a previous owner who arrived home to find the Manor House burned to the ground by a veld fire.
Wilehelm de Vries and Danie Malan
It was in 1972 that the late Fanie Malan, father of current cellarmaster and fifth-generation owner Danie Malan, made the first wine under the Allesverloren brand.

Today, Allesverloren is overseen by Danie and wife Juanita, with experienced winemaker Wilhelm de Vries at the helm of crafting its fine wines.

Packed with deep red fruit supported by 18 months careful oaking, this wine is perfectly balanced, smooth and rich, –a SA classic.
Allesverloren Shiraz
Just the right amount of spice notes to add to the succulent fruit with carefully controlled acids make this a perfct wine for traditional SA food in the winter months.
Whilst awards aren’t everything, an independent thumbs-up is always welcome, and for Allesverloren Wine Estate the latest accolades hail from the panel at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge where both the Shiraz 2019 and the Fanie Malan Fine Old Vintage 2014 received Double Gold medals. Gold medals were also awarded to the Chenin Blanc 2022, Tinta Barocca 2018, Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 and Fine Old Vintage 2018.
