Chardonnay grapes–Wikipedia
In the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, where some of our country’s finest Chardonnays are made, Glenwood have made sure that their’s is a name always mentioned in the top few. They make 3 magnificent Chardonnays, two of which are wooded and have spent time in barrels on the lees, all of which adds up to a hefty price.
However, they do have an unwooded version which is very reasonably priced, totally delicious, and definitely well worth getting. Plenty of fresh summer fruit on the nose and in the palate supported by well controlled acids. Crisp and refreshing –superb with light Thai Curry dishes and heaven with sushi. R160 at the cellar
