THE GOOD THYME CAFÉ MILNERTON
The name of the game, especially in the restaurant business, is consistency. People like to know what they are going to get on a second visit, or there will definitely not be a third. I was at La Bottega Deli at Stodels’s Garden Centre in Milnerton and decided to pop into The Good Thyme Café next door for a spot of lunch. The place was buzzing, packed to the roof, with people all having a good time, if you will excuse the pun.
Cosy corner
They specialize in delicious breakfasts, toasted sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee and light lunches. It is very popular with families, as there is a play area for kids and there’s an area for pets as well. If you want to sit outside, you can, depending very much on the weather, which at this time of the year is very iffy, and the range of things available is enough to satisfy most people.
Fabulous breakfast
I was delighted to start my meal with a glass of bubbly and ordered a chicken schnitzel to keep the wolf from the door, deliciously crunchy with plenty of flavour, topped with cheese sauce.
Great cake
I tried to finish with a slice of irresistible cake but had to take it home, oink oink. The hamburgers looked fabulous, generous and filling, with excellent chips.
La Bottega
When you are there, and after your meal, pop in at La Bottega Deli next door which is the very best Italian deli this side of town, with the most superb homemade cheeses and Italian products, so spoil yourself and get something there to take home for later.
